The Cubs got a
real steal in the 1981 offseason as they traded light hitting Ivan
DeJesus to the Phillies for 5 time All Star and 2 time Gold Glove winner
Larry Bowa. The Cubs may have been happy with that alone, however, for
good measure and to clinch the deal, the Phillies would 'throw in' an
untested infielder named Ryne Sandberg. The trade affected the
franchises infields for years as one became solid the other became sour. |
