Memorable Moments
April 17, 1964: Willie Stargell hits the
first home run at Shea Stadium in New York. Bucs win 4-3.
August 5, 1969: Willie Stargell hits the first homer
to be hit completely out of Dodger Stadium. Pirates beat the
Dodgers 11-3.
August 1, 1970: Willie collects 3 doubles and 2 home runs which ties the major league mark for extra base hits in a game.
He scores 5 runs while knocking in 6. Pirates outslug the Braves 20-10.
May 8, 1973: Willie takes Dodger pitcher Andy Messersmith deep and completely out of Dodger Stadium This is his second blast out of the park, the only player to do this.
